I don't know if anyone's stopped by this blog in the past year, but if you have -- I'm sorry. It was a mess. Back in 2002, I'd added a comment program called Posterchild (I'm not sure if it's even around anymore.) This was before Blogger had comment functionality, and before somebody came up with the completely useless and infuriating idea of comment spam.
Anyway, until about a week ago, I was receiving about 20 e-mails a day as a result of incessant comment spam on a few of my posts here. I tried to pull the whole blog down without losing all my content... But from afar, this just ended in HTML disaster. Since arriving back in the U.S., with the help of Bryan the offending pages have been removed from the Internet. I then stripped out the Posterchild code, updated my template and enabled Blogger comments, which are secure against the enemy.
Long story short: Four years of comments are now gone. But so is the spam.
I'm also working on updating my resume and portfolio and trying to figure out what to do with my homepage (on limited design capabilities.) Oh and I'm also looking for a job and someplace to live. But hey -- we've defeated comment spam! One step in the right direction.
