You know you're back in Massachusetts when...
... the first thing you see off the jetway is a Dunkin' Donuts.
... rotaries! Stinkin' rotaries!
... the radio lineup goes something like this: Guns n' Roses, Meatloaf, Steve Miller Band, James Taylor, Guns n' Roses.
... every strip mall has a Strawberries in it.
... humidity! Stinkin' humidity!
You also know you're back in Massachusetts when you get to hang out with cool parents who make beer-can chicken, dear friends with sweet babies, and the galpals for the annual Martha's Vineyard pilgrammage. And when you're only 30 minutes away from one of your most favorite couples -- who've set up shop in Providence, RI.
There are a million photos so let me help:
-- And Derek and Robin are excellent parents.
-- A quick lunch with my dearest old pal Patrick is always such a treat. You haven't heard a real Boston accent until you've chatted with Patrick.
-- Drake got us matching initial t-shirts, based on the venerable Amber Brkich classic.
-- I love this series of Sly's birthday suprise. Sly, Sly, King of Yahoo!...
-- Among hostess duties at the Vineyard's Outermost Inn: Talk to customers!
-- Dance party!
-- Bryan scared me by taking on the big waves.
-- This photo says a lot about me and Eugene, and I don't just mean that we like to BBQ in parking lots.
-- Okay okay Heather, Providence is pretty.
Oh and, I'd like to report that my camera died. It's true. I'm reeling. If you have any suggestoins on what to buy next, please, let me know.
And finally: A shout-out to my genius celebrity-spotting husband, who recognized Alan Ball and Peter Macdissi (he plays Olivier) at Logan. The expression on his face as he ducked his head into the Starbucks where I was fixing my coffee was a mix of pure excitement and time-crunch panic: I fell in love all over again.
