Today is our One-Year Wedding Anniversary.
We laughed and said aw-shucks and reveled in the obligatory "I can't believe it's been one whole year!"
We spent an ungodly amount of money for a just-24-hour escape one hour north of the city.
We each consumed one tiny niblet of the top of our wedding cake, and blessed the gods of superstition for allowing us to rid the freezer of that larger-than-life cakebox.
We smiled and acknowledged our good fortune and talked about the future.
Then we watched reruns of Da Ali G Show and cursed Six Feet Under for skipping a week.
