And um, oh yeah -- HEATHER AND EUGENE GOT ENGAGED! I would've added it below but clearly this exciting news demands a post of its own. We were lucky enough to get to celebrate with them Friday night (a mere 10 minutes after the asking...) and yes, I took pictures. With Heather's camera. This truly is wonderful news and I cannot wait to write questions for their very own edition of the Newly Engaged Game.
Happy day!
Happy day!
As pointed out this weekend by some of my dear friends, I've been terribly delinquent in posting pictures from our recent adventures. I bow my head in shame and offer you these photographic treats today:
1. A Night at the Races. When Robin first told me about this east-coast addition to Game Night, I was skeptical. A plastic table cloth, toy horses and a pair of dice? Could it really be as much fun as Celebrities? Would Bryan get a chance to act like a pool-side Munchkin? Well, no, he didn't -- but we still had a whole lotta fun. Our little group of gamers gambled our fortunes away, named our horses things like "The Best Chocolate Cupcake," and shared in the agony of starting all over again. Did I mention that Joe brought a riding crop? Roll double sixes, and look what happens. Who on earth would make a silly rule like that.
2. 24 Hours in Sonoma. I took Bryan to The Lodge at Sonoma as his birthday present, where we ordered room service breakfast and got 1-hour massages at the spa. I *love* Bryan's birthday.
3. Freakish Photo from Bryan's Proopy Birthday. It cost $3. Don't ask. And Greg Proops was incredibly funny, too.
Also please note that I recently acquired Photoshop 7, which offers a bunch of new formats for web galleries. I'm not sure I like them, since I seem to have less control over certain elements and in many cases, the frames get in the way of easy viewing. On the bright side, it offers some visual variety. GOD I am sick of those Photoshop simple thumbnail pages. So sick. Anyway, see what you think.

My favorite celebrity quote used to be Michelle Pfeiffer explaining that people are sometimes intimidated by her, since she is indeed "scarily beautiful." However, I think this gem was knocked from its #1 spot by Bridget Moynahan, fetching starlet of the current release "The Recruit," who recently told US Magazine that she avoids cardio "because it burns too many calories" and she doesn't want to get "too skinny." Poor thing.

Can you believe that a mosquito has 47 teeth?! The things you learn from a Snapple cap.
