VIDEO: Did You Miss This Meow? /

My reunion with Savannah went something like this:

Me: Saaaaaaa-vaaaa-nahhhh!
Her: Meoooooooooooow.
Me: Hi little cutie! We're back!
Her: Meow.
Me: Did you miss us?!
Her: [walks away]
Me: Hey! Savannah! I'm so happy to see you! [chases after]
Her: Meow, mow, mow.
Me: Hmph.

Then she ate a plant and threw up.

If you've been itching for an audio sample of that delightful yowl, click and rejoice:

But seriously, it was quite a lovely for me and Bryan to see that Savannah seemed happy, healthy, and relatively pleased to have us around for a few days. While I'm not sure that I would say she "remembered" us -- us, the brave people who put up with her for 12 years -- she definitely responded to my forced lap cuddling, chin scratching, and ball playing. On the second morning she came into our bedroom on her own accord and curled up on my legs. Just like old times.

Brookfield CT also saw an emotional reunion with my wedding rings, watch, jean jacket, and all-time favorite pants.

Today we're visiting with my dad's side of things, and tomorrow we head to Massachusetts where we'll start the job search for real. For now Savannah will stay behind at my mom's, biding her time until Bryan and I stop living out of our car. A VW Golf is no place for a wild beast like that.

She missed us. I'm sure of it! I think.

Great reunion! I'm sure she missed you, and I'm glad to see she hasn't lost her "exuberant" personality!

thank you! i've missed that tourette's grumble. have replayed several times. excellent direction too, the disinterested ass shot of her leaving is perfect.

you cheaters -- you totally put catfood or fish oil just under the camera lens, didn't you! ;)

howdy from jordan, where i am still 4 months or so from a permanent landing at home. one of the things i definitely miss is pets (mine or other people's)... as much fun as stray cats and dogs are, fully domesticated house animals will be a treat again.

As I just told Allyson on IM -- granted there are serious hormones at work these days, but this did get me choked up.
