What Should I Name My Baby Llama? /
After relatively little ado, Bryan and I are now set to begin our
WOOFing experience tomorrow evening at
Llama Lookout. When I spoke with the owner, Robyn (yes, with a "y" -- fate strikes once again!) she gave me a quick overview of what we'd be doing for our week's stay. Apparently, our timing is impeccable -- as Robyn et al are in the process of prepping the llamas for a big show of some sort next Saturday. And not just any llamas: brand-new baby llamas! Robyn explained that Bryan and I would pick one of the baby llamas to train for the week, later accompanying her to the Saturday show where our llamas would do something, somewhere, in nearby Christchurch. I've got no idea what llama training entails, or what llamas would want with a public showing of llama-ness, but I picture something Best-In-Show-esque where I don a little Jackie O. skirt, cropped jacket, and pillbox hat while stoically walking my llama by a leash in a circle, surrounded by distinguished judges making notes on their little llama-judging scoresheets.
Of course, it's more likely to be a big cattle shebang outside somewhere, with messy pens and scattered hay, but no matter -- my llama's coming home with a blue ribbon if I have to make it myself. Which brings us to the most important question of them all: What should I name my llama? Robyn didn't explicitly say I'd have the privilege of naming one, but I have to assume... If Bryan and I get a male and female llamas, I voted for "Rob" and "Amber," but Bryan prefers "Doug" and "Carol." (You'll have to search deep in the NBC TV archives for that one, my friends.) There's always the "Jerry" and "Elaine" option, or the overdone "Tom" and "Katie." Now, if it's two girls, "Paris" and "Nicole" would be entertaining, but we all really hate them...

Hopefully I'll be able to post pics and get online from llama-land. Oh and also, we're sleeping in a caravan for eight nights. Wish us (and little Doug and Carol) luck!

I like it, I like it -- though my pick for the 2nd set would have to be Veronica and Logan. I detest Duncan! ("Veronica" is a good llama name, IMHO.)
I equally detest Duncan, so I would have to say Veronica and Logan. However, I am still partial to Doug and Carol ... part of one of the best moments in Television History, I dare say!

I will resist my urge to suggest you name one of your lovely llamas "Dalai Lama", instead I will lobby heavily for Rob and Amber, and if that get vetoed, I throw out Nick and Jessica!
